Screening under the "Belassi" sky
Warm summer evenings with wine, beer or a mixed summer drink with friends or loved ones, a relaxing movie and even the most ideal day is suddenly more beautiful. Our cascade garden is the ideal summer amphitheatre to enhance summer days. And he deserves to be occupied on a regular basis. That’s why we were thinking how to do it.
Since Bojnice does not have a functioning summer amphitheatre, although screening is an activity for young and old, family and friends, locals and tourists, the cinema search has begun. After studying all the orders, prohibitions, obligations and impossibilities from the necessary institutions involved, we came across the recommended Wandering Cinema from Zálesie. However, this had an initial setback – the caravan on wheels and the tiered garden didn’t really fit together, let alone repeatedly. Until we learned that the solution for such terrains is a roaming shed. And that’s how it all started.
Belassi cinema is different than classical
Competing with the long-running classic cinema in the nearby shopping centre was not easy, but not impossible either. We had other advantages – fresh air, warm summer evenings under the stars, individual seating, the possibility of eating, family seating with children, even with strollers… In the summer, when everyone is drawn outdoors rather than indoors, we managed to attract attention.
Every second Thursday from the end of June to the beginning of September 2022 belonged to a screening in the Belassi Garden. Happy New Year 2, The Riddlers, The Changing of the Guard, The President, The Unknown Known Unknowns – this was the repertoire of our cinema summer on the screen. We had also prepared a wet version under the restaurant roof, luckily the weather was kind to us and we only hid the last canvas, more because of the temperature than the rain. And really, it was not to be thrown away. That’s why we decided to move on.
